CALLING ALL USA PLAYERS

THE USA WINTER TRAINING PROGRAMS

We are excited to announce the opening of registration for the USA Club Winter Training Programs. It has been a fun winter so far ... many of our teams have been playing indoor together! Now the time has come for the Club to add winter training. We are so pleased to once again offer these training programs to help our Club players develop their skills and become stronger teammates.

We are offering two technical development programs this winter, including:

~ Technical Skill Training

~ Goalie Training (in partnership with the Soccer Stop)

TECHNICAL SKILL TRAINING

This focused training is offered to all USA Players who are looking to strengthen their skills, enjoy time with teammates, and have some fun! We know that it seems like a ways off ... but the spring season is just around the corner. It is time to start working on focused skill development and game IQ! This is the best way to strengthen skills and try new skills. (HIGH SCHOOL LADIES ... this is a great way to prepare for school tryouts.)

Technical Focus: The focus will be on a different offensive topic each week, such as ... 1v1, combination play, finishing, team transitional movement, etc.

Cost: $60 for 4 one-hour sessions! A huge value!

Session Size: To help ensure proper individual attention, each session will be capped at 20 players. If we are able to generate more than 20 players per age group we will work to find other training sessions ... we want to do all we can to get everyone involved.

Primary Instructors: The program will be under the direction of Wade Schuemann, Club Director of Coach Development. He will lead our group of senior technical training staff (from our team coaching ranks) while they run the training sessions.

Location: The Soccer Stop Sportsplex (5 River Hills Drive, Holland)

Dates & Times: Between February 1 and February 24. Please note that time slots may be adjusted to better balance the number of participants and achieve a better training experience.

GOALKEEPER TRAINING

The modern goalkeeper has increased demands to be a more complete player than ever before. The responsibilities of the goalkeeper extend far beyond just standing between the posts. To be effective, goalkeepers must participate in the prevention of the development of goal scoring chances inside and outside of the penalty area. USA Goalie Camp will reinforce skills the player already possesses while teaching new skills and techniques to improve player performance and ultimately keep the ball out of the back of the net! There will be great training for keepers with beginner, mid-level as well as more advanced experience. This program has been running all winter long though the Soccer Stop’s lineup of programs. This program will be expanded to support more of USA Club keepers.

Technical Focus:

Ø Cutting off angles
Ø How to handle crosses
Ø 1 vs 1 situations
Ø Penalty kick strategy
Ø Breakaway strategy
Ø Dispersing the ball: Kick vs Throwing Ø Proper catching technique
Ø Defensive sliding for protection
Ø Foot work
Ø Low, mid, and high diving skills
Ø Playing off the line

Cost: $90 for 6 one-hour sessions! A huge value!

Session Size & Age Groups: Sessions are available for U9-U13 and U14-U19. Each session will be capped at 12 players.

Primary Instructor: The program will be under the direction of Sergio Reyes, Club Senior Goalie

Coach. He will be the primary instructor and will lead our group of other senior technical training staff (from our team coaching ranks).

Location: The Soccer Stop Sportsplex (5 River Hills Drive, Holland)
