Rules
1. Players may only primarily use their feet: Consecutive touches with other body parts do not count towards the total. If a player needs to use their head, thigh or chest to get the ball under control, that is fine, but they must go back to using their feet once under control. For example, a sequence of foot, foot, thigh, foot, foot can be 5, a sequence of foot, foot, thigh, thigh, foot, should count as 4 due to the consecutive thigh touches. The goal is for player's to improve their consecutive high score by pushing to reach the milestones listed below.
2. Honor System: Players do not need an adult to count or be present. The players are responsible for accurately counting the number of touches on the ball. The directors will be responsible for any discrepancies or disputes.
3. Scoring Levels: The Juggling Club has ten levels of achievement which are:
10 touches, 15 touches, 25 touches, 50 touches, 100 touches, 300 touches, 500 touches, 1000 touches, 1500 touches, and 2500 touches.
** Only players on teams U11 and younger can be awarded the 10 & 15 Juggling tags. U11 and up players must start at the 25 level.
Players who achieve one of the above goals will be highlighted on our website and social media sites (Instagram and Facebook). Each milestone achieved will be rewarded with a BAG TAG as well noting the level. (with this being a new program, the turn around on delivery of bag tags is somewhat of a wildcard at this point)
4. Reporting: Players (parents) once reaching a level of achievement need to notify Wade Schuemann via email at doc@usasoccerholland.com
The USA Juggling Club starts on Friday May 1st 2020 and continues indefinitely, only juggling sessions completed on or after May 1st 2020 can be used. Prior high scores (from the Juggling Challenge in April) do not count.
5. Hints:
Patterns: It is helpful to establish a pattern with juggling and stick to the pattern. The weaker foot is always one that causes players the most difficulty. The quickest way to become a better juggler and more importantly develop a better touch is to work on the weak foot specifically. A pattern for a right footed player would be two left one right and continue this pattern. This will be more time consuming and results are slower INITIALLY, however in short time the player will have the ability to juggle indefinitely. Dedication and discipline are the keys here and, the dedication will pay off in the long run.
Goal Setting: Set up goals. The goals can be weekly, monthly and yearly. Try to achieve a certain number of juggles by each period of time. The goals become your target. Start slow and with a reasonable goal and your results will start to improve.
