Joining USA

Come out to USA Select and Elite Tryouts !

USA Soccer Club welcomes all soccer athletes who want to play competitive club soccer this coming fall and/or next spring!  Tryouts are free and open to all boys & girls ages 6-18. Players interested in joining the Club for the 2018/2019 competition year must attend tryouts.  Teams are formed based on the results of tryouts.  Attending tryouts is mandatory for making a team.

Here's how to participate:

1.  Complete the online league pre-registration process

Follow the link located on the top of the web page at: GVSA TRYOUT REGISTRATION

Select: USA Soccer Club

View the procedures for completing the league registration by following this link -  ONLINE TRYOUT PRE-REGISTRATION

It is critical that you complete the online registration to get into the league system as that is the only source that we have for your information ... PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU ENTER IS ACCURATE (it is the only way that we can contact you with the results of the tryout).

This system will close for registrations on Sunday, June 17.  Beyond that date tryout registration will be done onsite at tryouts.

2.   Go to tryouts!

Boys U7–U19 – Monday, June 18
Girls U7-U19 - Tuesday, June 19

Arrive at Helder Park between 5:30 – 6:15pm.

Tryouts start around 6:30pm. They end at about 8:30pm.

Tryouts will be held at USA's fields at Helder Park (corner of Quincy St. and 104th Avenue).

In the event of a weather cancellation, we will make up tryouts for boys on Wednesday, June 20 and girls on Thursday, June 21.

What to do if you can't get to tryouts:

If you are unable to attend tryouts you may complete the ABSENTEE PROCESS (follow the link to our process).  Please note that attending tryouts for the premier teams is critical for placement.  If you are unable to attend, you may have the option of being placed on a select or elite team.

Here's what to bring:
Bring a friend (they should tryout too), a parent or guardian (to do paperwork and be there with you), a water bottle, a soccer ball, shin guards and a positive attitude. Please do not wear any club-affiliated clothing.

3.   After Tryouts

Here's what to expect afterwards:

We will do our absolute best to contact your family with in 24-48 hours.  We know that the news is very important to you so keep phone on and don't be surprised by a phone call later in the night.  If you do not receive a call the night of tryouts do not be concerned - we will do our best to make calls the following day.  Please note that if you see a large turnout at your age group, the organization may take longer and calls may be delayed.  You will get a call from either a coach or one of our age group coordinators. They will share the team placement with the Club and will provide you with details moving forward.  Please only contact us if you have not heard from anyone after 36 hours.

Here's what's next:

Once  you make a team (and really want to get you on a team) your new coach will share a bunch of information about how to complete the registration process and become an official USA player.  Along with the information will be directions about how to complete the USA Online Registration Process.  Accepting your roster spot is your first step to joining the Club.  Completing the registration process is the way to officially join the Club!  To become an official member of the team and USA each player must be fully registered.  This is different than the registration process completed online for the league prior to tryouts.  This web-based system allows your family to complete all the required registration forms, register for the USA Team Camp, and pay your player fee … all securely online.   You will be given information about how to get online and how to work through the system.  The system will not be available until after tryouts.

Once you reach the end of the online process you will have become a committed player in the Club, selected your uniform number, signed up for the USA-only Club Camp, and paid for the season – all in the course of a few easy minutes!  We do urge you to register as soon as you can so that you can rest assured that the registration process is done, and more importantly you player will be a fully committed player with ‘ready to play’ status.  Not completing the process or postponing fee payment may impact their roster status.  If you have any concerns or questions about this please let me know.

Then:

On the evening of Thursday, June 28th the entire Club will come out for Registration Night at the Soccer Stop Sportsplex.  We will all spend an hour or so together, meeting your coach and teammates, selecting uniforms, and completing any information that might be left to do.  This is the chance to finish online registration (we will have computers set up and people to help), pay if you did not do so online, talk with Club leadership about financial aid, and age any questions answered.

After That:

You are on your way into summer and getting ready for the fall season.
